The 18-XRAYIII was developed to help soldiers and law enforcement deploy their knife in a faster safer manner than conventional two move safety style switchblade knives . Most other safety designs require two separate moments for the knife to be opened or closed. The SAS combines the safety and opening button into one mechanism. The blade opening, closing and safety position require only one fluid motion.The automatic slide action of the SAS prevents the blade from accidentally opening in your pocket or closing on your hand.  Made in the USA. Available in Serrated (MFXRAY3) or Honed, Non-Serrated (MFXRAY4).  Color options: Black or Flat Dark Earth.
